The Cadets, supervised by the Squadron’s qualified climbing instructors, joined forces with 1438 Prescot Squadron in what proved to be a very challenging activity.
During the cold January parade night, the climber’s were taught the basic techniques of how to climb, both through bouldering and on the high walls.
For some, it threw them out their comfort zone for 2 hours, especially if they were scared of heights, while also proving to be a worthwhile activity with some Cadets even holding memberships at the centre.

Cadet Sergeant Peter James explained, “ Knowing the correct techniques to climb really helps you, as everything becomes a ton easier as you're hanging on “
Civilian Instructor and climbing instructor David Evans added, “For some Cadets it was their first time climbing and they really enjoyed it, it’s good to see the Squadron offering even more activities and people giving them a try”
The Squadron plans to hold several more climbing nights throughout the year.
